Chaos at Keoladeo by Priya Fonseca

This book is an entertaining adventure, travelogue, encyclopaedia and bird guide all rolled into one.
The first thing I noticed was how colourful and well laid out it was. The book not only has beautiful illustrations but it also has actually pictures of birds and animals. I felt that the addition of the actual pictures made the book more realistic and informative. Along with a bird drawing tutorial, it also has a little quiz at the end. The author has packed all these things into a single book and tied it together with a heartwarming story.
The plot revolves around Sameera, Alex and Tarun and their uncle Avi who are headed to Bharatpur to see the famed Siberian Cranes. But things don’t seem quite right at the park and the kids find themselves in midst of things wondrous and wild. Will they finally get to see and learn more about the cranes or will they end up disappointed?
The characters are well developed and relatable. The language is simple enough to understand by kids. The books format will not only get the kids interested but it will also keep them engaged. Highly recommended.
