Tarikshir : the awakening by Khayaal Patel

Tarikshir : the awakening by Khayaal Patel is a beautiful piece of historical fiction with fantasy and mythology mixed in perfectly. Set in the 1800s, it revolves around our Hero Rurda who is a young prince of the kingdom of Devangrah. When the British threaten the freedom of his land our proud Rajput prince takes up arms to fight them. Soon Rudra realises that the war with the Brits is the least of his problems. Will he be able to over the British and the other supernatural threats in his path? Will he stay true to his Rajput roots and make his supporters proud?
Tarikshir is the best Indian historical fiction book I have read till date. I personally found it to be better than the Shiva Trilogy. The title and cover are intriguing and attract your attention immediately. I liked the authors writing style, it made reading and imagining the story a pleasure. The characters are well developed and each one manages to hold its own inspite of the large cast. I really liked character arc of Rudra and how nicely it was developed. The plot is fast paced and engrossing with a lot of twists and turns, which will keep you guessing till the end. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait for the next part. Highly recommended for lovers of fantasy/ mythology/mystery/ thriller/ supernatural genre.
