I have always been fascinated by mythical beast’s and Yeti are one of them. So when I came across this book I knew I had to read it.
STUFF ON THE BACK COVER SAYS
Every tribal land has its own tribulations and the Kasis were way beyond any hope or help, for what they were undergoing was terrifyingly unspeakable. It wasnt any myth or taboo. This one was true. The One God was as real as the White Giants. But, all the suffering and trepidation came from the impossibly aggressive Grey Giants.
PLOT IN SHORT
The Kasis are a small backward tribe who live at the foot of a dangerous snow clad mountain. The dangers in staying there don’t just come from the hostile environmental conditions but also from mythical creatures that live high up in the White mountain. When a bunch of mountaineers unwittingly distrub the peace of the Yetis, thier fury is unleashed upon the tribals. The Kasis then seek the help of a famous hunter to deliver them from the clutches of the Yeti. How the hunter and his friends, go about trying to save the tribals forms the whole premise of this story.
THE GOOD
– action packed
– fast paced
THE BAD
– Editing could have been better
– Fight sequence between the 4 Sherpas and the Grey Yeti is confusing.
MY THOUGHTS
I enjoyed reading The Alpha Yeti. The poems about Yetis, are nicely written and make the plot more engaging and interesting to read. However the excessive use of adverbs put me off a little. Over all the book was good and I am looking forward to reading more work from SUM. All those interested in the mythical creature/ action genre can give this one a try.
MY RATINGS
3.7/5
